I'll Be Here This Saturday....

This Saturday you'll find me selling at the Shopkeeper & Friends Show in Elkhorn, Nebraska. It's put on by the sweetest couple and I'm always so excited to be a part of it.

If your looking for handmade goods and love vintage/junk (you know....the good kind) it's just the show for you.

I hope to see you there!

Getting Back Into The Groove

I've been trying to get back into the swing of things lately.....I had been quite sick for the past 6 months.....and I'm hoping that's all behind me now and I can move forward and enjoy life again. I'm still not completely out of the woods....but I'm seeing the light through the trees.....and that makes me very happy!

So....to try and get some normalcy back, I started adding new items to my etsy shop. It felt good to get the 'ol camera back out and snap a few photos. I've already added lots of  vintage goodness....but still have loads to add. One of my favorites is the vintage horse show ribbons....I just love all the colors. Wouldn't they make a great valance for a horse lovers window.

Anyways, here's hoping I'm back for good.

A Spring Table Setting

I took these photos a while ago....but after finding them today on my computer, I thought I'd share them with you for a little spring table inspiration.

I put this together with only things I had on hand.....just a simple and welcoming setting.

I used a linen sheet for the tablecloth and an old european grain sack for the runner.

The centerpiece was of herbs I had in my kitchen at the time....and some fresh cut tomatoes gave it a farm to table feeling. The scissors were for our guests to snip whatever fresh herbs they wanted to sprinkle on their dish.

The napkins were all mismatched....which gave the table a nice relaxed feel.

Happy Spring!

some inspiration

One of my favorite designers around is Nancy Fishelson. Her style is so simple and natural....and that's something I'm looking forward to introducing more into our home.

As you can see in the photos it's also uncluttered.....and that's very me. I just love the bedroom above....simple, calming and not fussy.

I love her use of homespun linens....and lots of white, cream and wood.

That's a pretty dreamy kitchen wouldn't you say?

I also love that in these photos, there is hardly a thing hanging on the walls. It looks like that may be something we have in common as I too hardly ever have anything hanging on my walls. For some reason, whenever I try to hang something on the walls, I just get an overwhelming feeling of clutter. It's funny....whenever I see gallery walls or walls full of mirrors in photos I love them....but when I try it in my home, it drives me crazy....go figure.

Another thing that I love about her style, is that everything just flows together beautifully from one room to the other.

Now that I have some inspiration, I'll be picking out some sample pots of paint very soon.

All photos are from Sotheby's Realty.
